About Mid-Beach and North Beach: the grand hotels and the quieter shore

North of Collins Park, Miami Beach becomes a strip of grand resort hotels, then quieter residential neighbourhoods towards North Beach, Surfside and Bal Harbour.

Mid-Beach

The Faena District, the Fontainebleau and the EDITION line Collins Avenue here, with LIV, Basement and the Broken Shaker for nights out.

North Beach

North Beach is calmer and more local, with the Carillon wellness resort and long, less crowded beaches.

Mid-Beach is where Miami Beach does grand hotels best.

Bal Harbour

At the northern end, Bal Harbour Shops gathers designer boutiques, jewellers and watchmakers across the road from the beach, and Haulover Park keeps a stretch of natural shoreline just beyond.

Our advice: if you want space and a pool-and-beach holiday, Mid-Beach is the sweet spot; take a ride-hail into South Beach for dinner.
